International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia 2026: Air France-KLM renews its commitment to inclusion

To mark the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia, celebrated on May 17, the Air France-KLM Group reaffirms its commitment to diversity and inclusion. Its airlines, Air France, HOP! and Transavia, are putting this commitment into action through dedicated initiatives, including special flights and highlight events organized throughout the day.

RAINBOW FLIGHTS

"Rainbow" flights to carry a message of inclusion

This day is a key moment to reaffirm the Group's values and shine a light on the concrete initiatives taken in support of the rights and inclusion of LGBT+ people. This year, the Group's airlines are mobilizing through 7 "Rainbow" flights, symbols of their support for inclusion and the fight against discrimination:

  • On May 15, Air France operated three flights, including two between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Mexico City, and one between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Toulouse.

  • On May 17, HOP! took part in this effort with a flight between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Ibiza. As for Transavia, the airline operated three flights between Paris-Orly and Prague (Czech Republic), Nantes (France) and Rhodes (Greece), and Lyon and Palma de Mallorca (Spain).

The arrangements surrounding the Air France flights to Mexico City were one of the highlights of this 2026 edition. The ceremony held at Air France's premises brought together numerous institutional and associative figures: Blanca Jiménez Cisneros, Mexican Ambassador to France; Jean-Marc Berthon, Ambassador for LGBT+ Rights to the President of the Republic; and Éric Martineau, Member of Parliament and Chair of the Committee for LGBT+ Rights at the National Assembly, as well as Catherine Tripon and Myriam Bougey-Trubert, representatives of the association L'Autre Cercle, and employees from Air France's Flight Operations and Human Resources departments.

The sequence continued with a boarding marked by the mobilization of ground teams, the distribution of rainbow ribbons to passengers, and dedicated announcements. Upon arrival in Mexico City, the initiative was extended through several welcome moments, including a crew photo and the presence on board flight AF0178 of Delphine Borione, French Ambassador to Mexico.

A global and ongoing commitment

Promoting a respectful working environment is at the heart of the Group's approach and is reflected in awareness-raising initiatives and active support for internal networks for the inclusion of LGBT+ staff, such as Personn'Ailes, the association of LGBT+ employees at Air France with over 25 years of existence. The airline also formalized this commitment by signing, in 2019, the LGBT+ Commitment Charter of the association L'Autre Cercle, which fights against discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in the workplace.

This commitment is global and manifests throughout the year across all of the Group's airlines, as demonstrated by KLM's official partnership with World Pride 2026. By rallying ground teams, crews and passengers around a message of openness, respect and solidarity, Air France-KLM and its airlines constantly reaffirm their dedication to diversity and inclusion.
