Description

Intermodality is an integral part of Air France-KLM’s decarbonisation strategy, alongside fleet renewal, the integration of SAF, and operational measures.

Air France and KLM enable passengers to combine an international flight with a train journey to or from eligible stations in France and Belgium, with simplified connections via the Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam-Schiphol hubs.

Thanks to suitable infrastructure and effective coordination between operators, this intermodal offering provides a seamless travel experience and enhances the attractiveness of the regions served.

As early as 2001, Air France established a partnership with the rail sector to offer a unique cross-border train–air combination, combining performance, comfort, and low-carbon mobility. Strengthening partnerships with rail operators is a key pillar of the Group’s strategy. Air France-KLM has partnered with SNCF and Eurostar to enable the booking of an entire journey—flights and trains included—under a single reservation, with guaranteed connections. This offering connects major markets in France, the Netherlands, and Belgium to the Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam-Schiphol hubs. In parallel, a collaboration with the Swiss Federal Railways aims to provide fully integrated air and rail journeys, without disruption.

In 2025, Air France and SNCF Voyageurs celebrated 30 years of partnership: three decades of innovation and joint efforts to facilitate rail access to airports and encourage the complementarity of these transport modes. In 2025, the two companies further strengthened their cooperation by allowing members of Flying Blue, the Air France-KLM loyalty programme, to convert their Miles into digital vouchers usable on the TGV INOUI network.

Air France’s “Train + Air” product currently serves 24 stations for customers travelling to and from Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. Fully digitalised since 2022, the journey allows online check-in for the entire trip.

KLM’s “Air & Rail” product is available at Amsterdam-Schiphol Station for connections to and from Brussels and Antwerp-Central.

Air France’s “Air & Rail” product is also offered on the Paris-Charles de Gaulle – Brussels-Midi route
