Flying Blue wins top prize at the 2026 Data Awards

Flying Blue, the Air France-KLM Group’s loyalty programme, was awarded First Prize in the "Data for Creativity" category at the 2026 Data Awards for its campaign "Turning Miles into Memories, for 20 years".

This award recognizes an approach that combines data, creativity and media. 
 
Designed to mark Flying Blue’s 20th anniversary, this innovative global campaign highlighted its evolution and travellers’ memories over the years, featuring:

  • digital displays with a 3D effect at the Flying Blue hubs (CDG, Amsterdam-Schiphol and New York-JFK);

  • increased communication on social media and via email;

  • "Miles of Memories" a competition on Facebook and Instagram, launched in nearly 40 countries, offering Flying Blue members the chance to enter a prize draw to maybe win 200,000 miles and revisit their favourite iconic destinations to create new memories there;

  • a feature on Spotify that allows Flying Blue members to create a personalized ‘Travel’ playlist based on their musical tastes;

  • memorable and immersive events for our most loyal members. 

Behind this campaign lies a firm conviction that data isn’t just about getting to know Flying Blue members better; it also enables us to devise communications and experiences that resonate more closely with their expectations, habits and emotions.  
 
In practical terms, analysing members’ data and insight has enabled Flying Blue to gain a better understanding of their behaviour, life moments and the relationship they have with their Miles. This insight helped with the creation of this campaign by highlighting a key reality: beyond their transactional value, Miles also represent aspirations, memories and emotions. It is this nuanced understanding that enabled the creation of a campaign that is accurate in its message, relevant in its targeting, strong in its creative expression and impactful in its reach. 
 
This award recognizes the strength of the team’s complementary expertise, Flying Blue’s ability to turn insight into creative ideas, and its capacity to use data as a practical driver of innovation to enhance performance and customer relations.
