Fleet
We are constantly investing in new aircraft. A modern fleet allows us to offer our customers greater comfort and significantly reduce our noise footprint to improve life for locals residing near airports. In addition, upgrading our fleet with cleaner and more fuel-efficient aircraft is the primary focus of the Group's decarbonisation strategy.
At December 31, 2025, the Air France–KLM Group fleet comprised 596 aircraft, of which 586 were in revenue service.

Our fleet consists of:
- 189 long-haul aircraft,
- 6 cargo aircraft,
- 300 medium-haul aircraft, including 140 aircraft in the Transavia fleet.
- 101 aircraft in regional fleet
At December 31, 2025, the average age of the aircraft in the operational Fleet was 11.5 years:
• Long-haul fleet: 12.9 years
• Medium-haul fleet: 10.8 years
• Cargo fleet: 22.8 years
• Regional fleet: 10.5 years.
At December 31, 2025, 33.9% of the total Group’s fleet was wholly owned, 14.6% was under finance lease, and 51.5% was under operating lease.
There were firm orders outstanding for 215 aircraft at December 31, 2025, operational lease excluded, after deliveries of 29 owned aircraft. Options stood at 113 aircraft.
Development and ambitions
Air France – KLM is pursuing an active policy of renewal and modernization of its fleet, thus contributing to the improvement of its energy efficiency and the reduction of its environmental footprint.
During the 2025 financial year, the Air France Group:
- for Air France: long-haul, took delivery of 6 new A350-900s; eleven Airbus A320 family were sold or returned to their owners, as well as four A330s and two A380s;
- for HOP!: Delivery of four Embraer 190s and exit of one Embraer 170
- for Transavia France: Delivery of 13 Airbus A320neos and removal of one Boeing 737-800.
In 2025,
- KLM: Delivery of three Boeing 787-10 and eight new A321neos, removal of one Boeing 737-800.
- KLM Cityhopper: Delivery of three new Embraer 195 E2s and removal of seven E190s
Transavia Netherlands: Delivery of seven new A321neos, removal of five Boeing 737-800s.
In 2025, the entire Air France-KLM group took delivery of 50 newgeneration aircraft.
This ambitious fleet modernization will continue in 2026 and subsequent years with deliveries of Airbus A321neo, A320neo and Airbus A220 aircraft to renew the medium-haul fleet, Embraer 195-E2 to renew the regional fleet, and Airbus A350 to renew the long-haul fleet.
At December 31, 2025, the Air France fleet comprised 229 aircraft, with 229 in operation (230 and 226 respectively at December 31, 2024).
The fleet includes 120 long haul aircraft, 107 medium-haul aircraft and two freighters.
At December 31, 2025, the average age of the fleet was 11.8 years, with 13.2 years for the long-haul fleet, 10.3 years for the mediumhaul fleet, and 16.9 years for the cargo fleet. At December 31, 2024, the average age of the fleet was 12.5 years, with 13.1 years for the long-haul fleet, 11.7 years for the medium-haul fleet, and 15.9 years for the cargo fleet.
Within the fleet, 95 aircraft are fully owned (41.5%), 33 are under finance lease (14.4%), and 101 under operating lease (44.1%). In 2025, the company took delivery of six Airbus A350-900s and 11 Airbus A220-300s, and parted with 12 Airbus A320 Family aircraft, four Airbus A330s and two Airbus A380s.
At December 31, 2025, the KLM fleet comprised 122 aircraft (112 at December 31, 2024), of which 69 long-haul aircraft and 53 medium-haul aircraft. 49 aircraft are fully owned (40.2%), 29 aircraft are under finance lease (23.8%), and 44 under operating lease (36.1%). In this fleet, 122 aircraft are operational.
At December 31, 2025, the aircraft in the fleet had an average age of 13.5 years, with 12.4 years for the long-haul fleet and 14.8 years for the medium-haul fleet. At December 31, 2024, the aircraft in the fleet had an average age of 13.9 years, with 12.0 years for the long-haul fleet and 16.6 years for the mediumhaul fleet.
During the year 2025, the fleet was modernized by the entry of three Boeing 787-10s and eight A321neo. One Boeing 737-800 exited the fleet
At December 31, 2025, the Transavia France fleet comprises 91 aircraft, of which 90 in operation (79 aircraft at December 31, 2024). The average age of this fleet is 9.4 years. Within the fleet, 9.9% are fully owned, 5.5% under finance lease, and 84.6% under operating lease.
During 2025, 13 Airbus A320neo entered the Transavia France fleet and one Boeing 737-800 returned to its owner.
