The Flying Blue Miles Donation: Another way to support charities worldwide

Flying Blue, the loyalty program of Air France-KLM Group, enables its members to earn or spend Miles when traveling, booking with partners (car rental, hotels, etc.) or making everyday purchases.

Another program feature is the Miles donation. Since 2017, Flying Blue has offered its 20 million members the chance to donate Miles to about twenty charities such as UNICEF, Aviation Sans Frontières or The Ocean Clean Up. Since 2022, members can also earn Experience Points (XP) by donating their Miles, allowing them to obtain or maintain their status (Explorer, Silver, Gold, or Platinum).

Most of the organizations selected by the Flying Blue loyalty program operate internationally in humanitarian, health, social, or educational fields, supporting adults or children in need.

Among them, La Banda de Música is an association that aims to get children off the streets through musical education. Thanks to Miles donations, this association, founded in Oaxaca, Mexico, in 2011 and supported by the Air France Foundation, enabled 40 young musicians to fulfill two of their greatest dreams this summer: traveling for the first time and going on a tour in Paris and across France.

A documentary film has been created to tell this adventure and highlight the concrete actions made possible by Miles donations. It will be available from December 11, 2023, on Flying Blue's social media channels.

 

The complete list of organizations eligible for Miles donations is available on the "Donate Miles" page of the Flying Blue website, FlyingBlue.com, with a presentation of the actions carried out thanks to the collected donations. All Miles offered to these organizations contribute to funding their travels or missions.

Some of these organizations are active in environmental protection, and again, all Miles offered to them contribute to financing their journeys or missions.
