At the International Air Show at Le Bourget, Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance has announced two new agreements with Air Mauritius.
AFI KLM E&M will take charge of the equipment and nacelle support of the Mauritian airline's brand new Airbus A350 fleet and will carry out the cabin modification (Part 21) of 6 aircraft in the Air Mauritius fleet.
Accompanying the A350's entry into service at Air Mauritius
AFI KLM E&M has won the component support contract for Air Mauritius' new Airbus A350s. The long-term contract covers a total of six aircraft, the first two of which will be delivered this year.
An exhaustive offer
In addition to pool access and repairs, the contract covers the deployment of a Main Base Kit to meet the carrier's local requirements at its base at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport. The airline will also be able to tap into the AFI KLM E&M pool of nacelles, which are repaired at the Group's ultra-modern Helios aero structures facility at Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
What's more, AFI KLM E&M will provide all-round, long-term support during the new aircraft's entry into service by sharing its expertise and experience as an MRO/airline supporting the latest addition to the Airbus family. This includes change-management training, immersion training for Air Mauritius personnel at Air France-KLM facilities in Paris, and on-job training for Mauritius-based certifying engineers. As part of the support provided, AFI KLM E&M will implement its PROGNOS predictive maintenance services.
Air Mauritius is the fifth airline calling for AFI KLM E&M A350 support services.
New cabin modification agreement for 6 Air Mauritius aircraft
Air Mauritius and AFI KLM E&M have signed an agreement covering Part 21 cabin modifications to six Airbus aircraft in the Air Mauritius fleet: two A319, two A330-200 and two A340-300. Under the terms of the contract, AFI KLM E&M will provide the program's design, engineering, documentation, certification, supply of certain materials, and airworthiness supervision components and will provide assistance services throughout the engineering process.
Flexibility and responsiveness
Several reasons explain why AFI KLM E&M was selected in this competitive bidding process. First is the flexibility and responsiveness shown by the sales teams throughout the negotiations as they sought to align the offer as closely as possible with the requirements and expectations expressed by Air Mauritius. The two companies also have a relationship built up over multiple partnerships in all areas of aircraft maintenance.
